Munich, Germany

Accommodation:

• While on a three week luxury European road-trip, I played a trick on my friends and booked a night in a party hostel in Munich. The city was more of a stopping place than a destination, so they got over it after a few cigarettes and some alcohol. That said, I did initially book Hotel Königshof.

Activities:

• In the 18 hours I spent in Munich, 8 were spent sleeping and 10 were spent walking the streets looking for the next beer and pretzels. So here's a tourists guide of what you should probably do instead. Unless it is Oktoberfest.

Food:

• This was my first time in Germany, so I was thrilled when we sat down for a really authentic Bavarian lunch at Schneider Bräuhaus München. Our waitress was lovely, very German, and dressed in traditional Lederhosen.

• We later moved to Hofbräuhaus beer hall for the typical Munich beer experience. The beers were as big as my head. You guessed it, I love beer so much so I managed a whole sip. The young men, on the other hand probably managed one keg each.
